Acupuncture is an alternative approach to medicine in which sterile, thin needles are inserted into specific locations throughout the body. It is a strategic technique based upon fourteen energetic pathways- responsible for the interconnected functioning of blood, Qi (energy), body fluids, and organ functions. In addition to physical wellbeing, it calms the mind and soothes the spirit.

A custom collection of Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities specific for those suffering from back pain. Following a short assessment, the patient receives a variety of therapies personalized for their needs. It includes a few powerful acupuncture points, fire cupping, gua sha and acupressure. Gua Sha is a massage technique using tools made from bone, porcelain, or most commonly, stones such as jade and rose.

The firm, steady apparatus effectively unblocks stagnation, drains the lymphatic system and eases muscle tension. Acupressure is an additional massage technique which utilizes meridians (energy pathways) to unlock zones of pain/tension. The multifaceted approach strongly stimulates the body, providing fast and fabulous results.

Known as cupping therapy, the TCM practitioner ignites a flame into a glass jar. It is then immediately placed on the patient’s body to produce suction. Three forms can be mixed and matched to best target the individual’s condition: stationary cupping ; the warm glass cups remain in place for a duration of time, flash cupping ; the cups are placed on and off the body in a quick, rhythmical sequence, slide cupping ; the practitioner applies oil, motioning the cup to lift fascia (connective tissue) back and forth. Benefits include the release of toxins, increased circulation, and digestive aid.
